Halloween...TAKE 1

The girls went to a "costume" party last week at Eliana's school. This is the first year I haven't guided them towards the costumes I wanted for them. I have to admit, I really liked the matchy-matchy. :( Sasha REALLY wanted to be a Geisha girl last year and I made her be a cowgirl (we WERE in Colorado) and that's the first thing she said she wanted to be this year. Eliana, after hours of choosing costume after costume after costume, finally decided to be Abby Cadabby. She's a relatively new (2006) character on Sesame Street.

Here they are, as opposite as can be!

The Big 1-0!

Dudley turned 10 last week. I can't believe it! He was none too thrilled with the Sweet Potato Bones I bought for them. At some point, Gracie took both of them and "buried" them somewhere in the house. He did get lots of love and a new toy!

More Beauty!

The magazine that ran the fashion show asked if Eliana and Sasha would like to model for their "12 Days of Christmas" shoot for their Holiday issue. Of course, I jumped at the chance because we weren't busy. My pictures are bad because I forgot the camera and had to use my phone. While taking Sasha's picture, I was trying to keep Eliana from falling into the swan pond with one hand as she squirmed closer to them. Eliana's picture was taken in the dark. The photoshoot ran way over schedule! But, here's a sneak peek anyway of my Swan and my Turtle Dove!

Has Anyone Seen Lenny Kravitz Lately?

High Fashion

Sasha and Eliana were asked to be in a Fall Fashion Show last weekend. Well, to be honest, I p..imped them out when a local magazine put out a request for kids but still...they were both asked to be in it!

I'm afraid to say it but these girls ROCKED their outfits. They gave Eliana a cute piano dress with a darling (really, there was no other word to describe it) red felt hat. I could tell that Sasha was upset when they handed her just a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. I say "just a pair of jeans and sweatshirt" but I'm sure those jeans and sweatshirt cost more than my entire fall wardrobe. Regardless, you should have seen Sasha's face when they gave her knee high BOOTS to wear with her just a pair of jeans and just a sweatshirt! She was transformed into DIVA. Eliana was cute but Sasha was SASSSY!

Alas, while they sure did rock the photographs, Eliana, my little ham was actually embarassed on the runway. ;) Sasha basically dragged her sister down the runway BUT as I watch the video, I'm proud of my big Sassy girl because she DID give a little UMPH at the end of the runway, just like her Mama taught her! And you thought America's Next Top Model was mindless entertainment! (working on uploading the video but having trouble)

5 Years!!

FIVE years ago yesterday, we got official custody of Sasha and I became a Mommy!! It seems as though she's been in our lives forever and yet, it feels like we just brought her home yesterday!

I gave her roses when I picked her up from school and we had a nice dinner at home. What celebration is complete without a great dessert and candles!!

Art!

Florida Little Dog Rescue (the group who rescued our Gracie) had a benefit yardsale. They had a caricature artist there who donated all of her proceeds to the organization. I showed her pictures of Dudley and Gracie on my phone and she was able to draw them. Wish I had her talent!

Eliana's picture of a "boat with passengers".

Twister!

Gracie apparently won!

Can't get enough of the sleeping cuties!

They had gotten in trouble several times that evening for NOT going to sleep. It was waaaayyyyy too quiet so I went in to take a peek and this is what I found.

Another evening of trying to stay awake and getting out of bed over and over and over. She came out with Minnie Mouse and said, "But Mom, Minnie Mouse is not tired!" Eliana sure was!

She barely made it through the front door before she fell asleep!

Weather

This is hands down the best time of year in Florida. We have been enjoying MUCH cooler days (well, except for the "heat wave" this weekend) for the past week.
