Mommy's jobs

No picture of mommy singing. Sasha is cuter.

It wasn't me.

Assignments for Mommy K:

1. Sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Sasha while she goes poo-poo. (She brought the microphone to me and said, "Sasha has to go poo-poo. Sing to me.")

Hmmmmm.....I wonder if I could get paid to sing to people when they go potty. Maybe I could just set up in public restrooms with a jar beside me. How much would you pay?

2. Encourage Sasha to put the toys IN the toybox.

Aunt Laura, you used to help people organize closets, filing cabinets, etc. Do you do toyboxes?

Yes, Murray. You take a nice picture too.

Murray has his choice of 7 dog beds and 1 human bed but he chose to sleep on this.

Emotions

It's funny how emotions can sneak up on you! I actually cried while Sasha was getting her pictures taken. Then, I cried when we were viewing them. I've scanned some of them for you all to see. You can't deny that she's a cutie-pie!

Who could say "no" to this beautiful face?

Sasha's picture from her adoption file. We were lucky and got to meet her in person and fall in love. Had the agency sent this picture first, it also would have been love at first sight.

Can you find Sasha?

A picture of Sasha and her friends at the orphanage.

The Circus

Sasha watching the motorcycles.
A real Mommy and child. NOT a real ape.

We went to the circus a few weeks ago. The second we walked in the door, Daddy made a beeline for the souveniers. He insisted that Sasha wanted the twirling light up motorcycle thingy. I know I don't need to tell you who really wanted it.

Sasha and I went and sat down while Daddy got all the junk food he could carry. When the show started, there was a cheesy introduction and I could tell Sasha was gettting a little antsy. About 20 minutes into the intro, Sasha turned to me and said, "Sasha's all done now." I kept her busy until it was over. All of a sudden, the lights started flashing and there was a big bang. It really scared her and she started crying. My mommy instincts kicked in quickly and stuck a cheese covered nacho in her mouth. Success!!

The show was 2 hours long and the twirling light up motorcycle thingy did keep her busy during the boring parts. I think her favorite part was the motorcycles at the very end. (Her cousins would have been so proud!)

A very special picture

This picture was included in all the Russian documents we received from the court.

This is our little girl. We think she's about 3 months old in this picture. It really looks like her, too. Matt and I are so thankful that we have this picture. She's a beautiful little girl and even though it's sad that we missed this time in her life, we are so blessed to have her now.

Nature

Sasha and I planted this last week.

How appropriate that it chose to open up yesterday.

WHERE A KID CAN BE A KID

AND THEIR MOMMIES AND DADDIES CAN GO CRAZY!

WE WENT TO CHUCK-E-CHEESE'S TO CELEBRATE OUR "SPECIAL FAMILY DAY". WHOSE IDEA WAS THAT? IT WAS SOOOOO LOUD IN THERE AND SASHA WAS GOING 100 MPH. I'M EXHAUSTED BUT SASHA LOVED IT AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. RIGHT?

Growing like a weed and Daddy loves shopping!

I think Sasha grew 6 inches just last week! Of course, she's still a skinny minny so NOTHING fits her anymore. With tears, I added a bunch of her clothes, some she had never worn, to the "For Juliana (my 4-month-old niece) Bag" or "For Our Next Little Girl Bag".

Daddy took her on a shopping spree yesterday. Yes, I said Daddy. He found some very cute clothes for her. We're still working on teaching Daddy how to be a bargain shopper--nothing he bought was on sale. GASP!!! He bought her the hat in the picture, "...because she wanted it". Remember, we live in Florida. The next time we buy her clothes, Daddy will need supervision.

I made this!

I (Mommy) was able to put this together with Sasha's "help", Dudley sitting on my lap and Murray sleeping on the directions!

Brilliant

I'm signing her up for gifted classes on Monday! No, I'm just kidding but you'll all be happy to know that she's developmentally on level. I took her for a developmental screening on Friday and she was within normal limits in all areas. She's only been speaking English for 6 months and she passed both the speech and language portions of the test. In fact, she was completing some 4 and 5 year old tasks in all areas! That's our girl.

Bubbe and Zayde's visit

This time we weren't too busy to remember to take pictures!

New Year's Resolution

I would like to say that I'm going to stop eating junk food but I know that's not going to happen. I'd like to say that I'm going to start exercising more but...well, it might happen but I can't guarantee it.

So my New Year's Resolution:
To be the best mom that I can be to my beautiful little girl.

What's yours?
