I think I'm nesting and it's no fun!
I'm obsessed with organizing the house. This morning, Matt and I cleaned out the garage. It was really bad. Matt's not a "garage guy" so it was very unorganized. We needed to clean it up so we could fit the minivan into it! I still have to do one bedroom and then put away all the stuff I moved from the kids' bedrooms! So, now I won't make fun when a pregnant woman says she's nesting. I think I'm nesting and it's no fun!

Translation
Our 8 billion documents are being translated as I type! R told us 2 weeks for translation and 1 week for lawyer review. Things are moving along. I just hope things KEEP moving along. I'm not sure how much longer I can wait.
I drove past a sign the other day at TCBY. It said "Free cone for mom on Mother's Day." It made me cry. Next year, I'll get my free cone!

What will my furbabies do?
How will my first babies react?

I'm a little worried about how they'll react to 2 kids. They are both very spoiled. Murray is a lover so I think after a little adjustment period, he'll be their good buddy. Dudley is more independent and he only truly loves his mom. I think he's going to be very jealous but I also think he'll adjust. It might just take a lot longer!

Born in My Heart
Not flesh of my flesh,
Not bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own-
Never forget-
Not for a minute
You weren't born under my heart
but in it.

But still miraculously my own-
Never forget-
Not for a minute
You weren't born under my heart

Faster than we thought?
I just spoke with R on the phone. She said that our information was sent to Russia today. Once it gets there, it will be in translation for 10 days, then with a lawyer for one week. Then it will go to the region where are children are. We will wait for approval from the region and then we can go on our first trip. Because, we have already identified our children, R thinks that it should move pretty quickly once the region gets our information.
Every night before I go to sleep, I am sending my love to I and E. I sure hope they feel it.

We want them!
My email to our caseworker:
R,
We would like to apply for the adoption of I and E. I've been
really good up until this email and now I'm crying. Now, I just have to
find patience, right?
Kristi Klein
Her Response:
Oh my goodness, Kristi, congratulations! I know this is such an emotional
moment and for me as well for these beautiful kids are so lucky to have such
wonderful parents - even if I know you Kristi for such a short time, you
will make such a great mother! You have the instinct! I know the wait is
hard and please be prepared that it will get a little harder when you leave
them behind after your first trip, Ok?
Can I say "yes" now?
There was an email from the doctor and R already this morning. She said that the "deformation" of his legs is a slight bowing in the upper leg. I emailed her response to Dr. Dumois and he said it probably isn't a big deal, that I may require braces for some time. Hey, I can live with that.
I forwarded it to Matt and I wrote: "Can I say yes, now?"
He replied: "Whew - you know life-changing decisions are tough for me to do - but, OF
COURSE YOU CAN SAY YES!!!! We're going to parents. I'm starting to
cry."
I got it at lunchtime and I started to cry. I am going to have a son and a daughter.
I already love these children but I have to keep in mind that there is still a chance one of their relatives could come and get them. Although I don't really anticipate this happening, there is also a chance that we could meet them and realize it is not a good match.
As far as I'm concerned, our children are waiting for us in Russia. I want to go love them, now.

More Information
After talking to the doctor, I got home and checked my email. I's medical record arrived, finally. Something mentioned on his chart concerns me: "deformation of legs". R is checking into it for us.
Matt is on a plane home from Puerto Rico and I want to talk to him. I emailed this latest report to the doctor.

Dr. Dumois finally calls
The doctor finally called today. I can't believe it took so long for him to call. I called them on Monday morning and was told that they'd call back that afternoon. Nothing. I called this morning and the receptionist said the doctor would call back after his patient. I called back this afternoon and left a message on their voicemail. He called back 20 minutes later. I was on my way home from school so I pulled over so I could take notes. He was actually so thorough that he made up for taking so long to return my call.
Everything sounds fine! He is concerned that the children are small but that can be changed with love, good food, exercise and sunshine. I think Florida's a good place for that, don't you? The children also tested positive for TB but this is also treatable.
The only thing the doctor can't see is any potential learning or behavioral problems. I'm not worried about learning problems. Of course, I hope they don't have any but that is something we can work with. As for behavioral problems, the orphanage workers have spoken very highly of both children so I hope they would be honest with us about this issue. We can't find out anything about the conditions they were removed from or the mother's history. We will find out what is known when we go on our first trip.

Waiting to hear from the doctor
We submitted everything to the International adoption doctor today. They will get it tomorrow and then we should hear from them within 3-5 days. Unless something is terribly wrong, these are our children. I'm hoping to hear by the end of the week.
We've been waiting so long to make a decision. Every day, I and E fill my heart a little more.
