Anything you can do

We just found out that our profile will be shown to a few birthmothers over the next few weeks. So all of your hopes, dreams and wishes will be appreciated!

Too much!

I guess she had enough of painting. Sasha is actually sleeping in this picture. She was painting and I was upstairs putting away her clothes. She called me to tell me she was done. I told her I'd be there in just a minute. A few minutes later, I came down to silence...

Pampered Pooch

This is Dudley's sofa. These are Dudley's pillows. Matt arranged them just the right way for him.

Now can you imagine how our child(ren) is/will be treated?

Don't laugh

But I have volunteered to be the "Team Mom" for Sasha's cheerleading team.

Hey! I said DON'T LAUGH!

Don't worry either. It's mostly going to be clerical work.

Can I laugh or should I worry?

We had a problem with our electical lines the other night and we were only getting 50% power to our house. We are currently on a temporary thingamajig until the problem can be found. Today, the contractors were laying new wire underground and Sasha was fascinated. She was watching them out the front window.

I walked past her a few minutes ago and noticed that she had taken her shirt off. When I asked her why, she pointed to a worker who had also taken off his shirt and said, "It's too hot in here for it." Yikes!

Your World

To the world you may be one person but to one person you may be the world.
Author:Unknown

This quote brought tears to my eyes. Who is your "world"? Can you have more than one "world"? I certainly think you can.

My World:
Sasha is my world. I still look at her and can't believe that she is our child. How lucky are we that she came to us?
Matt is my world. Even when he drives me crazy, I know that he will always be there for me.
My parents are my world. Thank goodness for email/cell phones/ and unlimited long distance. Now, I can get in touch with my mommy in an instant! Just wait until I have the baby.
My sister is my world. Thank goodness that I have a best friend in a sibling.
My BFF Laura is my world. Just today, for some reason, I was thinking of funny college stories and laughing out loud. I will spare everyone the details!

Oh goodness, I just realized that I could go on and on and on. In one way or another, all of my friends and family truly are my world. Every single one of them bring something to my life that I would miss if it was gone.

Ready, OK!

Today was Sasha's first day of cheerleading! She is on the Lil' Rascals team. Practices are every Monday and I sure hope she finds her coordination! Let's just say she's very much like her mother. They will be performing at some events so I will have to help her practice. Oh boy, this could be interesting!

Here We Go Again!

We have signed with an adoption agency in Orlando. We would like to adopt an infant 0-6 months. Our profile, which I obsessed over for 3 weeks, is in the mail and will be available for birthmothers beginning on Monday!

Our Adoptive Parent Coordinator is wonderful. Even through all of my emails (you know how much I email) and all of Matt's questions (I know you know how he is!), she has been so supportive and patient with us.

She has told us that they are very busy. In fact, just last week, she placed 3 babies (and these are only the ones I know about). Matt seems to think that we will be matched very quickly, but after what we went through last year, I am trying not to get my hopes up.

Those of you who know me may not believe it but all that I have bought is a book for Sasha, "I'm a Big Sister". Of course, I'm constantly looking but doing a very good job of controlling myself.

Sasha seems to understand the process. The other day when I picked her up from school, she asked me what I did. I told her that I went to talk to the "lady who is going to help us adopt a baby" (i.e. the Adoptive Parent Coordinator). Sasha looked around and said, "You bought the baby?" We have explained to her what will happen: A lady with a baby in her tummy may not be ready to be a mommy. So she looks at our pictures to see if we would be a good family for the baby. Sometimes a lady might pick a different family but that's ok. I'm just waiting for her to go up to a pregnant woman and ask if we can have her baby!

So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

By the way, Murray and Dudley have no idea what's going to happen. Please don't tell them!
