Best

The best thing is to rock a child to sleep.

The best thing is to rock YOUR child to sleep.

I'm just sayin'.

The most recent coversation I had with Sasha:

(There were worms on our patio because of recent rain. She picked up two of them, one in each hand.)

S: Mom, look I'm holding them!
M: Yes, that's nice.
S: I'm going to hold...oh where did that one go? Where did it go?
M: I don't know I guess you dropped it.
S: Ok, well I'm-going-to-hold-this-one-for-an-hour-oh-no-I-just-killed-it! Mom, can you help me find some more?
M: You look, I'm sure you will find some.
S: Oh sweeties, oh sweeties, come on worms, I'm not going to kill you.

Sweeties?

And what do you do when both of your children are Cranky Pants?

Put them in mommy's bathtub. They were happy playing in there for almost an hour.

Rainy Day

What do you do on a Rainy, HUMID Saturday in Florida?

You read in bed with Daddy.

And Dudley, too!

You make your sister push you around in a box while you play the drums!

And then you go to Olive Garden and eat Pasta!

Who doesn't love a good fort?

Eliana enjoys knocking them down so this good fort lasted all of 2 seconds, but it was a fun 2 seconds for Sasha!

Eliana's Law

Just walked out to the car to get Eliana's juice.

Came back in and her entire lunch was on the floor.

Of course it is Mac n' cheese and sticky peaches. Of course, the house was cleaned yesterday and of course, the dogs are getting groomed today so they aren't here to clean it up.

When I got out the camera, because this was certainly a blog-worthy moment, she ran right for it. I don't see any remorse, do you? In fact, it almost looks like pride to me. STINKER!!!

18 month Stats!

She had a bad sleep day yesterday and last night so she fell asleep in the car about 2 minutes before we pulled into the parking lot.

And she continued sleeping in the waiting room.

Finally, a happy baby waiting for the doctor.

Length 33 inches= between percentile 75 and 90
Weight 23 pounds 10 ounces= between percentile 25 and 50
Head Circumference 18.1 inches= between percentile 25 and 50

Sounds good to me. The best part of the visit was at the end when Dr. R asked, "Do you have any questions for me?" Ellie looked up from the book she was reading, shook her head and said, "Yesh". I think we made the doctor's morning!

I think we might have to go on the road with the girls.

Really, I think they are that good that we could retire and be their managers! Let me know what you think.

The Trouble with Field Trips

They bring stuff home. Sasha brought home pizza dough today. It was uncooked and she wanted to play with it. Who wouldn't?

Anyway.

She was going to town on this hunk o' dough; pounding it and cutting it and then licking her hands and picking up a little off the floor, "I really wish I could make my own pizza Mommy." I just couldn't deny her the pleasure. And really, what does it matter to a 6-year-old that she is using spaghetti sauce, slices of mozzarella cheese, and dirty dough to make a pizza?

"I'm going to share it with you Mommy."

Oh boy!

I cooked it and she ate 1/2 of it and said it was delicious, "MMMMMMMM!!! MOMMY, you should try it!!" Is it wrong to pretend like you didn't hear your child? Fortunately she loved it so much, she forgot all about sharing with Mommy.

Movin' on Up

Sasha is still very interested in Karate and is really improving. Her Sensei (karate teacher--remember The Karate Kid?) has complimented her quite a few times over the past coulple weeks. It could be that Sasha is exhausted from summer camp or that she actually is able TO SIT STILL FOR ONE SECOND, but only for someone else.

Wax on. Wax off.

IF

IF you called me during the 260 minutes, the 260 MINUTES that my phone was off the hook and in the desk drawer, I didn't answer. I didn't know anyone was calling. Really. I wasn't ignoring you.
