Shhhhhhhhhhh............
Eliana is sleeping through the night. Shhhhhhhh....
For the past 2 weeks she has gone to sleep around 7-9 and not waking up until 4-6. Don't tell her that Mommy LOVES this!

Only 4 stitches
Got your attention didn't I?
Sasha has gymnastics class in the morning before school and I usually stay and watch. This morning was no different but as I was leaving, she said she had to go potty and wanted me to go with her. Sasha was galloping to the bathroom and as soon as she hit the doorway, her feet went out from under her and she bit the dust. She screamed and ran over to me. It was then that I noticed the puddle on the floor. Sasha was soaked. One of the toilets had overflowed. I was trying to calm her down (thank goodness Eliana was sleeping at the time) and decided to take a look at the damage.
I saw blood. I am not my mother's daughter or Louise C. (more on that later) because I remained calm and called someone over. Fortunately, the teacher that came over used to be a nurse so she took over. We got Sasha calmed down and put ice on it. For being a head wound, it stopped bleeding pretty quickly. The former nurse---now teacher said it would probably need 4 stitches. So off we went to Urgent Care where we surprisingly only waited about 45 minutes. She got 4 stitches. The doctor was so impressed by how well she did. He told me that she was even better than his adult patients. She's fine. No signs of a concussion. As usual, she didn't take a nap either.
As for my mother, I cracked my head on our kitchen cabinets once and ran down to get her. The first thing she said was, "Don't get blood on the carpet." And then she passed out! My sister ran over to get the neighbor. :)
As for Louise C. (Yes, I'm calling you out ladies), we were all camping together one time and her daughter had gone to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She came running back, blood all over her nightgown. She had dropped her toothbrush and as she picked it up hit her head. Her mother also passed out.
I did not get the vapors. I am not a passing out kind of mom although I have to admit, I did get a little nauseous.

Update on Sasha
Update on Eliana
Update on Murray
We made it to the vet yesterday without any incidents. Murray's knee has heeled well and his other leg is also doing well. It's doing so well that they don't recommend surgery at this time. Phew! They gave him a sedative before taking x-rays and he was one dopey doggy even after I brought him home. He may have been groggy but he was so happy when I took the gate off the bottom of the stairs. He hasn't been allowed to use the steps for 6 weeks and with the exception of the occasional jail break, he hasn't been upstairs. He's really missed his lookout.

Same Day, Different Story! or Cabernet....Take me away!
So other than a major headache, my morning continued uneventful. Eliana, Murray, Dudley and I all had a nice little nap in bed together. But...you knew there was a "but" right?
But, a funny thing happened to me on the way to Eliana's bedtime. Since her last doctor appointment, Matt and I have been worried about her weight gain. So, instead of obsessing about my weight, I weigh Eliana a lot. I do this by weighing myself and then picking her up and weighing her with me. (For those of you who aren't math majors, you then find the difference between the 2 numbers which would be her weight.)
Anyway, I was in the middle of changing her diaper when I decided to weigh her. I assumed it wouldn't be a big deal because her diaper was wet and she had a major blow-out this morning. I know, I know, you know what happens when you assume. I weighed myself (by the way, I AM losing weight). I picked her up with her cute little tushy sitting on my arm.
I bet you think you know where this is going. I guess I should have talked to you before I decided to do this.
I stepped on the scale. I was waiting for the numbers to register when Eliana passed gas. Ummmmm....well it wasn't a dry passing and remember her cute little tushy was sitting on my arm. Well, you know what happened. I jumped off the scale (by the way, I made an attempt to read the weight but according to what I saw, she only weighs 2.4 pounds) and RAN back to the changing table and grabbed a handful of wipes. I cleaned off my arm and quickly put a diaper on her.
Since she was wearing a diaper, I felt much safer and went to weigh her again. She spit up on me.
I then took a shower.
I don't know what she weighs.
If you think this is funny, you should read the comments at Still Waiting. She asked for people to tell her the most embarassing thing that a child has done to you. The comments are hysterical and definitely worth reading.

Calgon Take Me Away............
Murray had an appointment this morning for x-rays.
I was able to get up, feed Eliana and burp her before I needed to get dressed. I was making great time. Unfortunately, while I was getting dressed, she had a diaper EXPLOSION!!!! BAM! So, I had to clean her up.
Put on my sneakers. The dogs know that when I put on my sneakers they are going for a walk or for a ride in the car. So, they started going nuts. I put Eliana in her carseat and put the dog's harnesses on. When I picked up Dudley, he screamed like I broke his neck. Now, we all know that Dudley is a major Drama Queen but everytime I touched his belly, he whimpered. While, we were examining him, Eliana started to cry. Of course, Sasha was in the middle of it all talking about something.
I finally got Eliana and both dogs in the car and she started screaming AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS! This was a scream that would not be fixed until I picked her up. The vet is about 40 minutes away. I drove backward 6 inches and then drove forward, parked the car and I gave up. We are rescheduled for tomorrow. Wish me luck.

First Baseball Game
Eliana enjoyed her first baseball game. We went to a Spring Training Game at Disney's Wide World of Sports last night. After eating right when we got there, she fell asleep and slept until 5:00 this morning! Yep, she slept through all the cheering, all the great stadium food, the ride home, she did wake up when Daddy changed her diaper and put her in her in PJ's but she fell right back to sleep.

Another one of my lifesavers...
Best Friends
Smiles
Eliana first really smiled at me on Valentine's Day. Well, that's the day I knew it was definitely not gas. For the past week she has been giving us big smiles, especially in the middle of the night when she wakes up hungry. That makes a few hours of sleep worth it.
We took the girls to get their pictures taken this weekend and we had a hard time getting Eliana to smile. Sasha did a lot of her normal fake smiles but we did get a few good pictures. They will be posted later.
Today, I was determined to get a picture of Eliana smiling. I got 3. I took about 50 and got 3 good pictures. She was more fascinated by the camera than she was with her mommy. Oh well, I know I'm boring...but a camera?

Disney!
In a nutshell..
Eliana turned 2 months old last Thursday. Tomorrow, she will be 9 weeks. I just can't believe it. But I am savoring every minute with her, even the poopy diaper she just made 2 minutes after I changed her.
She had her 2 month check-up today. She only weighs 11 pounds but she has grown taller to 23 1/4 inches long and her head is growing just fine. The doctor thinks that reflux may be the problem of her lower weight so Ellie is going to be taking Zantac for 2 weeks. We will go back to check her weight in 2 weeks.
She did well with her shots. She only screamed for about a minute after but I had a bottle ready to pop in her mouth. She's a little whiny right now so I'm trying to keep her comfy.

Ha Ha funny
Sasha came home from school the other day saying, "You can't be sillyous." Can you? Can you be silly and serious?
She started swimming lessons yesterday and she learned the first rule, "Never swim alone because you might get drained." Well, yeah, ok. If that keeps her safe, we'll take it.
